Consultation Program

Our consultations go beyond the routine (and totally flawed) portion control, counting calories and measuring weight loss protocol. You instead track down your eating habits, daily activity, sleep hours, exercise compliance, work hours, etc., and we will educate you about how food effects your health, fitness and productivity. You take control and ownership of what you like to eat and how you like to workout not just for the duration of the program but for good. 

We work globally, from Mumbai

Our exclusive consultation program is designed to be followed from across the globe. The appointments happen over skype/facetime/ phone as per your convenience. Of course if you are in Mumbai we look forward to meeting you in our office in Khar west and chatting over a cup of chai. Do note that we have no representative or authorized centre anywhere across the globe apart from our Mumbai office.

We work with everyone

We work with clients across continents, across economical strata, across professions, across age groups and genders. From students to working women to CEO’s to politicians to school teachers to home makers, from those looking simply for weight loss, to those struggling with PCOD and Hypothyroid, to diabetics, heart patients and cancer fighters, we have a diverse and varied clientele. It’s a testament to our belief that the fundamentals of eating right and exercising right are valid for everyone, and all we do is fine tune them to personal requirements.

Mitahar is India's ancient wisdom that teaches you to eat local, seasonal foods and celebrate homegrown culinary knowledge so that you may experience a higher sense of wellbeing in your body and a better sense of harmony with your surroundings. It accounts for the fact that every human being is unique and that season, location, stresses, lifestyle, attitude, family, work, friends, everything plays an important role in deciding what your body needs at a given time.

P.S.: I like to call my nutrition program "mitahar" because I believe in intelligent and insightful eating and that there is more to life than how much you weigh. It will educate you to make intelligent choices about food and exercise, taking into account your lifestyle and your fitness goals, and will keep you young in your body and sharp in your mind. Sounds good? Will you lose weight? Yes, as a by-product!

How it works
You have two choices –
a) How long – 2, 4, 6, 12 months and
b) With whom – 2 and 4 months with the Team (supervised by Rujuta), 6 and 12 months with Rujuta
The structure of the program stays the exact same.
It's a 3-stage process:
THE PRE-CONSULTATION STAGE

    You start by filling in the DAR (diet and activity) sheet for 3 days which will help us figure out your existing eating pattern, food likes- dislikes, nutrient & calorie intake, energy expenditure and how it changes during the day.

    Appointments are blocked on calendar for the entire duration of your program after your approval.

    A pre-consultation document that sets down expectations from the program

CONSULTATION STAGE

    You start off with an hour long first appointment where a meal plan and an exercise prescription will be prepared with your full involvement.

    Weekly interactions at a designated time to review and alter your meal and exercise plans as necessary.

    Phone, whatsapp and email support for all of your queries.

    Special meal planning for special occasions like work travel, holiday, wedding, festivals, etc.

POST-CONSULTATION STAGE

    Regardless of the duration of your program we maintain a lifelong relation with you and provide you support anytime you need.

    A post- consultation document will summarize all the learnings from the program that we feel are important and will provide quick and practical food planning guidelines for most of the situations you will face.

FAQs
No. We work globally from our office in Khar west, Mumbai. We have no branch, no representative, no authorized nutritionist anywhere else in India or abroad.
When you select a package exclusively with Rujuta, she will work directly with you in designing an eating plan for your needs. 80 percent of your interactions will be with her.
The packages work in the same manner, just that instead of interacting with Rujuta, you will work directly with your designated Nutritionist. Rujuta has a small and well trained team working with her and she oversees every single meal plan that is prepared by them.
No difference apart from the fact that you will interact with her over phone/ skype/ facetime and email instead of meeting her personally. The entire pattern remains the same as her regular packages. In fact many of our Mumbai based clients also opt for video chats for their appointments.
The complimentary option is in place for two main reasons - a) to get you started on basic food and workout modifications during your waiting period. One of our team Nutritionists will work with you to bring about these changes. b) to set your expectations from the exclusive consultation program with Rujuta. This also helps in making the best use of your time with Rujuta once your program starts.
Cost comparisons are subjective. The amount of time we spend with each client, the emphasis on understanding the lifestyle and food likes-dislikes to come out with a long term eating plan and not a 'avoid this' plan, the lifelong education we strive to provide you on your specific nutrient requirements, how food helps you achieve fitness beyond weight loss and the thorough grounding in our food and wellness traditions makes our program unique.
Since ours is more of an educational program, you will learn the basic pattern of eating as per your body's requirements and your lifestyle. During your active package, your diets will be changed roughly every 2 weeks so that your body gets exposed to the maximum nutrients possible. You will be also be actively involved in planning your diets, so that will give you an understanding of your nutrient needs & how to tweak your diet (depending on your activity & lifestyle). By the end of your program, you will be in a position to plan your diets by yourself & carry on with a healthy eating pattern as a way of life. In addition, we provide you with a very important post-consultation document which is a summary of all your learnings during the program and guidelines to plan your meals in various situations. Besides, our relationship with our clients is a lifelong one and we are just a phone call or an email away in case there is any help you need.
The idea is to empower you to follow a healthy lifestyle as a way of life and not just when you are 'on' a diet. This may take 2/4/6 months or an year depending on your specific case. We can help you in this decision in case you are confused.
No extensions are possible once you have made the payment.
You can but only after the last installment is paid your appointment schedule will be generated and you will be sent the DAR. Basically the process starts only after your full payment is credited.
Results' is an ambiguous term in our dictionary. Just as eating wrong has an immediate effect on the body, so does eating correct. It might not be a measurable effect (read weighing scale) but you will start feeling better, more energetic and shrunk within a week or two of following the diet and exercising. Weight loss or rather fat loss, as Rujuta insists, is a by-product. So first thing you do: throw that weighing scale out. What we track are your efforts, results just follow.
Our ideology is to help you evolve an eating pattern that fits into your work schedule and lifestyle so that there is no question of going "on" or "off" the diet. We work at educating our clients to understand their body's requirements and to enable them to get in touch with their digestive system so that eventually they are able to evolve their own eating pattern, overcome the fears & myths associated with certain foods and are able to free themselves from the need to fit into a size or shape. Ours is a 'get fit' or a 'lose fat' program, not a 'weight-loss' one.
There is no bias towards non-veg or veg diet. The basic idea is to have an eating plan that will stay true to your likes and dislikes and hence is doable.
Most of our clients have travel as an essential part of their jobs. The diet plan will be designed keeping in tune with the lifestyle and job requirements you might have. You will be educated on how to plan meals while traveling and assisted with choosing best options when you are in a new country/ city.
We will design an eating pattern that fits into your work schedule & lifestyle. If you do work in shifts (day & night), your meal plan will be tweaked depending on your nutritional requirements as per the work shifts and the availability and practicality of food choices.
Yes. Your current fitness levels and exercise pattern will be analyzed for any additions/ changes that need to be made. Specific plans, for example exercise prescriptions to be followed at your gym, will be given to you.
Any form of exercise that challenges you and is an enjoyable experience. It could be strength training, running or Yoga and also recreational exercise like dancing, swimming, cycling, etc. You will also be educated on the basics of exercise physiology and bio-mechanics so that you have good fundamentals and can make intelligent choices in the future also.
